The Lake Erie Sports Alliance's Learn to Skate program offers structured ice skating lessons for individuals of all ages and skill levels. The program focuses on developing fundamental skating skills, promoting physical fitness, and providing a fun and supportive environment. Participants receive instruction from experienced coaches, with lessons tailored to beginner through advanced levels. The program emphasizes safety, skill progression, and fostering a love for ice skating.
Learn to Skate USA Membership
A Learn to Skate USA Membership is essential in tracking your skater's progress as they glide through the curriculum during our programs. We require all of our Learn to Skate participants to maintain a Learn to Skate USA Membership. Participants must register for a membership before the first day of classes. click the link below and register today! When choosing your program affiliation, please select Lake Erie Sports Alliance.
Year Round Programming for All Ages!
Our Facility offers year round programming that runs consecutively throughout the seasons.
Monday evenings we offer our Basic 1 through 3 classes. These classes are designed for beginner skaters just starting their adventure on the ice!
We also offer our Basic 4 through 6, Free Skate, & Adult classes on Monday evenings.
Our Adult classes are designed for the beginner & novice adult skaters looking to boost their skating skills for figure skating or hockey.
Our Basic 4 through 6 classes are designed for the novice skaters who are ready to learn transitions, edges and skating skills.
Our Free Skate classes are designed for the more advanced skaters who are ready to learn jumps and spins, along with the advanced skating skills for Figure Skating.
*Skaters must have passed the Basic 3 or higher levels to participate in our Basic 4 through Free skate classes.

Ice Explorers
Get ready for frosty fun with Lake Erie Sports Alliance's new Ice Explorers classes (formerly called Snowplow Sam) Saturday afternoons! Kids ages 2 ½ to 5 years old can join in for an exciting session full of interactive, on-and-off ice instruction with our experienced coaching staff. Whether it’s their first time on skates or they're looking to sharpen their skills, Ice Explorers is perfect for all young skaters.
After class, stick around to show off your skills and have fun practicing on the ice during public skate. And here's a cool bonus - each Ice Explorer gets 3 FREE public skate admissions with their class registration if they register by October 14th, 2024.
Class schedule:
October 26th - 1pm to 2pm - this week's class introduces students to our facility with a fun tour of our facility and off ice activities with our coaching staff.
On-ice classes: 1pm - 2pm
*Class time for Nov. 2nd 2024 11am - 12pm due to hockey games.
November 2nd, 16th, & 23rd
December 7th & 21st
*No classes on Nov. 30th for thanksgiving weekend.
Class Attire:
We require all of our new skaters to wear helmets. if you need to borrow a helmet, please let one of our staff members know and they can assist you in getting one. We recommend that all skaters dress in warm athletic wear, a warm coat, and gloves (hockey or regular, mittens are not recommended).

Class time: 5:45pm - 6:15pm
Practice time: 6:15pm - 6:45pm
Basic 2 & 3
Class time: 6:15pm - 6:45pm
Practice time: 5:45pm - 6:15pm
Skater attire/gear:
For new or beginner skaters, wearing a helmet is essential. If you do not have a helmet, please inform us, as we have a limited number available for borrowing during classes.
Furthermore, we strongly recommend that skaters wear gloves, a warm jacket, and flexible athletic clothing for both classes and practice sessions.

Open to all ages and skill levels, our structured Learn to Skate lessons help develop fundamental skating skills, encourage fitness, and provide a fun, supportive environment for beginners through advanced skaters. Experienced coaches emphasize safety, skill progression, and a love for skating.
