At Erie Sports Now Fitness & Performance Center, we offer a supportive team environment with experienced coaches. Programming is provided through a combination of in-person coaching as well as mobile tools that are individualized for everyone. This ensures that our athletes and teams have useful data, insights, and expert guidance always.
Tyler Travis is the director and founder of Erie Sports Now Fitness & Performance Center. He has experience training professional, college, high school, and youth athletes. Travis is in his 9th season as Strength and Conditioning Coach for the men’s and women’s Ice Hockey program and is Director of Strength and Conditioning for all 23 Mercyhurst University sports teams
Travis serves in a strength and conditioning role with USA Hockey National Player Development summer camps (2018, 2019, 2021, 2023). Travis previously worked in a strength and conditioning role with the Erie Bayhawks, NBA Development League. Travis, an Erie, Pennsylvania native, received his Bachelor of Science degree from Pennsylvania State University, the Behrend College and then went on to earn his master’s degree in exercise physiology from Minnesota State University at Mankato. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach (RSCC) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Travis is also certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) as an Exercise Physiologist and is a Certified EXOS Performance Specialist. Travis teaches as an adjunct instructor for exercise science at Mercyhurst. He specializes in the development of performance programs and is a Functional Movement Screen Certified Specialist. He is also certified as a Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting.
Travis resides in Erie with his wife, Beth and their two boys, Matthew and David.
